Invest in a local community club with passionate fans.

About Us

The Co-op was formed as a result of a decision made by Central Coast Mariners Football Club (CCMFC) fans. The Cooperative grew out of research conducted by Central Coast Mariners football fans to find a suitable financial and governance entity that would best suit community ownership and an investment vehicle for CCMFC. The committee looked at different investment structures and decided that a co-operative
(“the Co-op”) was the most democratic form of ownership because each vote does not depend on the number of shares held. Whether an investor holds 1 or 1000 shares, he or she still only has one vote. No-one can use their voting power to support a vested interest. So the Co-op was established in mid-2021 through registration via the NSW Department of Fair Trading after extensive advice from legal, accounting and governance advisers.

What’s the relationship between CCMFC and the Supporters Co-op?

CCMFC is a seperate corporate entity. The Supporters Co-op will seek to develop a MOU and partnership with CCMFC to establish a legally binding commercial relationship. The Co-op has been formed specifically to reflect community ownership values and as an investment vehicle to invest in CCMFC based on specific terms and conditions. No funds will be invested in CCMFC unless Co-Op terms and conditions are met.

Governing structure

The Co-op is run by a board elected by the members at a General Meeting (annual), each member has one vote irrespective how many shares they own. As at March 2021 there is an interim board. This board will call for a General Meeting in order to elect a full board within the next six months. More information on the rules of the Co-op and other information can be found on this website.

Our Objectives

The Co-op was formed with the intent to accomplish the following objectives:

  • CCMFC remains on the Central Coast, continues to play at Central Coast Stadium and retains existing club colours and badging.

  • Strengthen the bonds between the club and its community through investing in the Central Coast, whilst ensuring the interests of CCMFC supporters are properly represented.

  • Establish an affordable community ownership model, with the aim of bringing sustainable long-term stability and success to CCMFC.

Governance & Board

As a member owned organisation we provide full transparency on our Governance and financial performance. The Co-op will be overseen by a Board of 3 Directors initially. Directors govern on behalf of the Members. All Directors must comply with basic legal requirements under the Co-operatives National Law (NSW) Act 2012 which specifies a duty to act in good faith and honesty, act with care and diligence, avoid a conflict of interest, not to abuse a corporate opportunity or misuse information, and not to trade while insolvent.
